Sysco St. John's
Stephen Howell found his interest in cooking early in his childhood helping his mother preparing and serving meals at an early age. Once he entered the workforce at the age of 15 he immediately focused on the food service industry. After working various jobs as a line cook he quickly realized he wanted to pursue culinary arts as a career. Stephen attended Georgian College in Barrie Ontario in 1999 and completed a three year Culinary Management Diploma. Following college he apprenticed with several renowned chefs in Ontario while working towards his Red Seal Certification. Returning home to Newfoundland in 2005 Stephen helped open two National Franchise locations and ran them for seven years before accepting his current job with Sysco Food Services as Corporate Chef/Business Resource Specialist. He is dedicated to sharing his passion through volunteering and educating. Stephen is proud to have represented Newfoundland on the Senior Culinary team, a board member with RANL, a committee member with The Learning Disabilities Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, and member of the St. John’s CCFCC branch.
